We all know these as bills that we have to pay. Some are for the car if you have a car payment or maybe it's a medical bill. Maybe it's an invoice for a bill you have to pay every month, such as rent or a credit card payment. Many people are open to receiving receipts or other invoices electronically, or a 'paperless' option. For a while now, people have looked at ways to reduce the usage of paper and printer ink. One of the ways they do this is offer statements and invoices online, so they have not only a paper record but an electronic one as well.
Environment
This paperless system not only helps people but saves money at banks, credit card companies, and other places as well. The alternative is to print something out, mail it and then have clutter and missed notices pile up at the house. Companies spend quite a bit of money mailing out statements. It's one less paper they have to print out and mail, and not everyone wants a paper credit card statement every month. There is a lot to be said for saving resources, too.
Place
Online systems have their place, and it will only get better as more companies that can, should switch to online payment and statement systems. Most companies are already doing it.
